We should start seeing more information uncovered the rest of the week. Amid all these announcements yesterday, USDA reported a sale to China, which makes us all throw our hands up in the air and want to head to our nearest watering hole. That means every other country in the world is going to need to get their beans from us. China is going to need beans from Brazil now- probably every last one of them they produce. Less than 1% of our corn is going to China this year. China has not announced a starting time, to when these tariffs will start. I hate to report all doom and gloom, we have to think about a few things… 1. 17 c trading range but closing only down 7c. 58 cents, rebounding at the close to down. That list included corn, beans, and sorghum. If you were out yesterday China put a 25% tariff on 106 US goods. Nearby basis took a little leap of faith, matching up to their last half April values, despite early protection yesterday morning. We are up 3 on corn new and old, and up 5 ½ old beans, up 6 new beans. Hopefully we are all waking up to sunshine this morning, the dust is starting to settle from yesterday’s wrecking ball and we can all see things a little clearer. Good Morning- I am Christy Ford, from the CHS location in Carrollton IL.
